According to the basic requirements, what character trait is NOT acceptable?

A controlling personality is not an acceptable character trait for those seeking credentials within the Assemblies of God. Such a trait can lead to dysfunctional relationships and hinder the collaborative spirit that is essential in ministry settings. A leader should inspire and motivate others rather than exert control over them. The emphasis in ministry is on servant leadership, which requires humility, compassion, and a willingness to empower others rather than dominate them.

In contrast, traits such as a willingness to help others, living a blameless Christian life, and abstaining from harmful substances are all strongly encouraged within the Assemblies of God. These attributes reflect a commitment to the values of service, integrity, and health, which are pivotal for effective ministry and witness in the community.
